Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is seeking an experienced Technical & Quality Lead to head a small team in a busy textiles manufacturing site in Derby. The role combines technical leadership with quality, product development and customer support to move concepts through to bulk production.

You will drive capability, raise standards and lead cross-functional collaboration across production, supply chain and sales. The successful candidate will have a strong technical textiles background, be hands-on, and excel

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Technical & Quality Lead to lead a small technical and quality team within a growing manufacturing environment.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining technical leadership, quality, product development and customer support. You will play a key role in developing technical capability, improving standards and supporting new products from initial concept through to successful bulk production.

The Role

• Leading, developing and motivating the Quality & Technical team.
• Overseeing R&D, product development and quality management.
• Managing product development from concept and sampling through to testing, approval and bulk production.
• Providing technical support to sales, customers, suppliers and production teams.
• Investigating quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Managing customer and supplier audits and technical assessments.
• Maintaining and continually improving quality, environmental and technical systems.
• Working cross-functionally with production, purchasing, sales, suppliers and customers.
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and right-first-time thinking.

About You

This role requires a strong technical textiles background. You will ideally have senior-level experience within technical textile manufacturing.

You will have a strong practical understanding of manufactured technical textiles, together with experience of product development, fabric performance, quality systems and taking products through to reliable bulk production.

Experience across areas such as dyeing, finishing, coating or lamination would be advantageous.
