Job summary

Rolls-Royce Defence invites applications for a Test Systems Engineer to lead control and instrumentation systems for test rigs and facilities. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, capturing requirements and delivering bespoke designs, including safety and instrumentation packages, with on-site commissioning and handover to operations.

The role emphasises safety, engineering excellence, and collaborative project delivery in a demanding, time-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Experience of working in test applications.
Experience with Fuel, Actuation or Electrical Aerospace systems.
Experience with ATEX systems.
Background in Electronics is beneficial.
Knowledge of HAZOP and FMEA and safety risk reduction processes.
Experience with instrumentation measurement systems and safety PLC integration.

Responsibilities

Deliver and manage control and instrumentation systems from requirements to commissioning.
Write concise, unambiguous requirements and specifications.
Develop bespoke control and safety system designs for test equipment/facilities.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet timescales.
Support design reviews and lead onsite commissioning and handover to the test operations team.
