Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Test Systems Engineer in Solihull to lead control and instrumentation work on test rigs and facilities. You will translate requirements into commissioned systems, write precise specifications, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet tight schedules.

The ideal candidate has degree-level qualifications or equivalent and experience in test applications, fuel and electrical aerospace systems, plus knowledge of HAZOP/FMEA and safety PLC integration.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline or qualified by experience.
• Experience of working in test applications.
• Experience of Fuel, Actuation, Electrical Aerospace systems would be beneficial.
• Experience of working on ATEX systems.
• A background in Electronics would be beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety Standards and risk reduction processes (HAZOP/FMEA) and design mitigation.
• Experience of instrumentation measurement systems, safety PLC integration, control systems would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Define technical packages / investigations to deliver control and instrumentation systems from requirements capture to commissioning.
• Write concise, unambiguous requirements and specifications in a systems engineering approach.
• Develop bespoke control, instrumentation and safety system designs for test equipment.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team with internal & external stakeholders to meet timescales.
• Support or lead gated design reviews and onsite commissioning with handover to operations.
