Job summary

Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework and has a defined band for the Test Solution Design Engineer role in Edinburgh. The position is permanent with hybrid working and requires managing electronic test solutions across the full design lifecycle.

You will design, develop and integrate test hardware for radar programmes and wider defence capabilities, producing documentation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full design life-cycle.
• Experience with electronics hardware.
• Experience designing test solutions.
• Experience with integration, verification and qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and delivery of test solutions within a defined work package area, ensuring the solution meets stakeholder requirements across performance, cost and schedule.
• Capture, analyse and mature stakeholder needs to determine the optimum technical approach.
• Design and development of electronic hardware solutions across the full design lifecycle.
• Produce high-quality design documentation and technical reports with configuration control.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment within the programme.
• Contribute to solving emerging technical issues with robust solutions and risk mitigation.
• Develop, coach and upskill engineers within the engineering community.
