Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Test Solution Design Engineer to design and develop advanced test solutions for UK defence and aerospace programmes. This Edinburgh/Newcastle based role focuses on hardware design, integration, verification and documentation across the full design lifecycle.

You will work with stakeholders to align architecture, address technical challenges, and mentor engineers while enjoying hybrid working and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full design life-cycle (concept to qualification).
• Experience with electronics hardware and test solutions.
• Experience with integration, verification and qualification processes.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a defence/aerospace context.

Responsibilities

• Support creation and delivery of test solutions within a work package, meeting performance, cost and schedule goals.
• Capture and mature stakeholder needs to determine optimal technical approaches.
• Design and develop electronic hardware across the full design lifecycle.
• Produce design documentation and reports with configuration control and standards compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment within the programme.
• Contribute to resolving technical issues with robust solutions and risk mitigation.
• Develop and mentor engineers within the team to promote best practices in electronic design.
