Job summary

Sulzer in Leeds is seeking a Test Engineer to own complex testing programmes for large-scale rotating equipment and pump packages destined for critical infrastructure projects. You will lead testing activities from preparation through to completion, analyse performance data and collaborate with Engineering, Projects and Production to ensure safety, reliability and quality.

• HNC in Mechanical, Electrical or Plant Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in manufacturing/engineering/testing or rotating equipment.
• Previous experience supervising equipment testing.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
• Continuous improvement mindset and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising allocated test activities through to successful completion.
• Leading and coordinating test teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to specification.
• Evaluating test results and communicating findings to Engineering, Projects and Production teams.
• Investigating technical issues, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
• Supporting the design and development of test rigs and testing processes.
• Monitoring equipment reliability and performance to maximise operational effectiveness.
• Participating in project and assembly review meetings, providing technical expertise and guidance.
