Job summary

Balmoral Comtec, a division of Freudenberg Flow Technologies, seeks a Test Centre Operator to support subsea and wave tank test operations on onshore facilities. You will set up and run tests, log data, and ensure compliance with procedures while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Applicants should be able to work shift patterns with allowances and overtime, and possess a proactive, detail‑oriented approach in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 18+ eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Handle and sling products using cranes, forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.

• Perform basic care maintenance of Test Centre equipment.
• Fill timesheets daily with correct work numbers and time spent.
• Keep workplace clean and abide by Area 5s guidelines.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

Job description

Balmoral Comtec, a division of, Freudenberg Flow Technologies, provides surface and subsurface buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products and services to the global energy, defence, subsea communications and oceanographic industries.

As a Test Centre Operator, you will be an integral part of our subsea and hydrodynamic testing facilities. This role is an onshore position that supports both subsea and wave tank test operations, providing technical assistance in setting up and carrying out a range of tests on products manufactured within the Balmoral plant and recording results in accordance with company procedures.

Within some departments we operate a shift system, a shift allowance is paid while working on back and night shift which increases the standard hourly rate by time +1/6 and time + 1/3. There is also the opportunity to work overtime during busy periods. Due to rotating shifts and safety requirements, applicants must be at least aged 18 or over.

What will you do as a Test Centre Operator?

• Handling and slinging of products using O/H cranes, forklifts, pallet trucks etc.
• Operation of pressure vessels and hydraulic equipment
• Operation of PCs for data logging and test reporting
• Use of powered tools and hand tools
• Basic Care Maintenance, of Test Centre equipment
• Filling in of timesheets at the end of each shift (daily) with the correct works numbers and time spent on the job
• Keeping your workplace in a clean, tidy and Follow the Area 5s guidelines

Other Duties And Responsibilities

• Adhere to company Health and Safety Procedures, safe system of work instructions, risk assessments, and any other documentation controlling the task you are performing
• Actively contribute to the Business SIFRI system to aid Safety improvements
• Be prepared to work shift patterns as required to meet the delivery demands of products to our customers
• Other special projects and “ad hoc” duties as assigned
