Job summary

Proserv is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Technician to join our Operations team in Great Yarmouth. The role involves hands-on testing of Subsea Control Modules (SCMs) across electrical, hydraulic and functional domains in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates will have an apprenticeship and experience reading engineering drawings, maintaining technical records and a strong eye for detail, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and clients on-site or offshore when

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent formal training completed.
• Experience in electro-hydraulic testing and fault finding within manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining technical records.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, hydraulic, electrical, and communication testing on control systems.
• Carry out fault finding, continuity, insulation resistance, and integrity testing.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate test records and documentation in line with quality requirements.
• Ensure all testing aligns with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project requirements.
• Raise NCRs and support root-cause investigations.
• Ensure test equipment is safe, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
• Liaise with engineers, clients, and inspectors during test activities.
• Support offshore or onsite activities when required.

What You Need To Know

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Technician to join our Operations team in Great Yarmouth. In this role, you will carry out testing on Subsea Control Modules (SCMs), ensuring products meet quality and performance standards before delivery.

This is a hands-on technical role involving electrical, hydraulic, and functional testing within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Perform functional, hydraulic, electrical, and communication testing on control systems
• Carry out fault finding, continuity, insulation resistance, and integrity testing
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Maintain accurate test records and documentation in line with quality requirements
• Ensure all testing aligns with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project requirements
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support root-cause investigations
• Ensure all test equipment is safe, calibrated, and fit for purpose
• Liaise with engineers, clients, and third-party inspectors during test activities
• Support offshore or onsite activities when required

Qualifications / Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent formal training
• Experience in electro-hydraulic testing and fault finding within manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining technical records
• Team player with good communication skills

Desirable:

• BTEC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Knowledge of subsea control systems standards (e.g. API 17F / 17D)
• Familiarity with SCADA or control/communication software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
