Job summary

Speedy Hire in Whitehaven is seeking a Test and Run Technician to perform basic electrical and functionality testing as well as servicing and cleaning returned hire products to ensure they are safe and presentable for the next customer.

This busy depot role offers training and development opportunities within Speedy’s in-house programmes, a Monday–Friday schedule (07:30–17:00), 42 hours per week, and benefits such as a pension and life assurance.

Qualifications

• Basic electrical and 12/24V testing knowledge.
• Basic mechanical skills and able to use hand/tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience in hire industry or related engineering field preferred.
• Support ESG Strategy delivery within the business unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical and functionality testing.
• Service and clean returned hire products to ensure safety and presentation.
• Assist in depot upkeep and safe operation of equipment.
• Support team with training and development initiatives.

Salary £29,572 per annum pro rata

The role of a Test and Run Technician is a busy and productive role in the depot, performing basic electrical and functionality testing as well as servicing and cleaning products returned from hire to ensure they are safe and presentable, ready for the next customer to take away.

What You’ll Need

• Basic electrical skills (12/24v)
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to use tools effectively
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Previous experience working within the hire industry or other engineering field is desirable
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
