Tesco is hiring a Shift Lead in Colchester. You will lead a store team to deliver great customer experiences, across departments, with a focus on service and operational excellence.

Hours include evenings and weekends with shifts scheduled in advance; the role offers an hourly pay between £15.59 and £16.86, and a minimum guaranteed 16 hours per week, with many locations offering more. 18+ required and full training provided.

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what were looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

You will be responsible for

Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.

Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.

Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.

Confidently leading the store in the Manager's absence.

Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.

Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.

Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.

You will need

To be over 18 for this role.

Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.

Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customers needs are met.

Build positive, long-lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.

A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.

A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
