Job summary

Bowdon Associates Limited is seeking an Area Sales Manager to own a key territory across Chelmsford and surrounding sectors. You will drive growth by generating leads, visiting sites, and demonstrating cleaning equipment to end users.

The role offers autonomy, structured training and genuine career development within a thriving UK field team. UK-based travel expected, with comprehensive benefits and a competitive base salary with OTE.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales experience with growth targets in a competitive market.
• Territory management experience; field sales with customer visits encouraged.
• Hunter mentality: energetic, credible and proactive with customers.
• Strong CRM skills and data‑driven territory planning.
• Comfort with hands‑on demonstrations of cleaning equipment and automation.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Cleaning equipment industry knowledge or experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Generate your own leads through cold calling, research and planned area visits.
• Book and carry out site visits, surveys and product demonstrations.
• Build and develop long-term customer relationships, and grow existing accounts.
• Manage and report on your pipeline accurately through the company CRM.
• Take full ownership of revenue performance across your territory.
• Demonstrate equipment hands-on, including mechanical and autonomous machines.
• Develop expert product and application knowledge to advise customers.
• Work closely with key account managers and internal teams within your sector.
• Provide accurate forecasts (monthly, quarterly and annually).
