Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the Class Teacher during lessons.
• Assist with the delivery of relevant schemes of work and assessment.
• Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils including those with SEND.
• Promote inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
• Contribute to assessment and planning by supporting pupil progress monitoring, recording and reporting.
• Read to pupils and assist with daily reading.
• Administer First Aid where required.
• Carry out ad-hoc administration to support the Class Teacher.
• Run pupil intervention groups as advised by the Class Teacher and SENCo.
• Support with break, lunch and after school duties on rota basis.
• Attend school events and INSET training as required.
• Raise child protection concerns when needed and safeguard pupils.
