Job summary

Queen Margaret Academy in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The role is 24.25 hours per week during term time, with inset days, offering a supportive, high‑quality learning environment.

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to deliver tailored activities, support pupils one-to-one or in small groups, and contribute to assessment, record-keeping, and effective behaviour management.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Willingness to complete safeguarding, first aid and SEND development training.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the classroom to access learning, stay focused, and make progress.
• Deliver planned learning activities and targeted interventions under the teacher's guidance.
• Monitor progress, maintain records, and communicate with colleagues and parents/carers.
• Contribute to assessment and support positive behaviour and well-being.
