Job summary

Essential Employment is recruiting a Home to School Passenger Assistant in Wigan. The role is term-time and part-time, supporting children and young people with SEND during journeys to and from school, ensuring safety, comfort and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND or in a school transport setting.
• Good awareness of child safety and safeguarding requirements.
• Clear communication with colleagues, parents and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils during home-to-school transport, ensuring safe boarding and alighting.
• Support pupils to stay calm, comfortable and ready to learn on journeys.
• Maintain safety checks and report any concerns or incidents.
