Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking a Home to School Passenger Assistant to support children and young people with SEND during their journeys to schools and colleges across and outside the borough.

This is a term-time, split-shift role running from September to October 2026, paying £13.26–£13.90 per hour. A taxi will collect you from home or a designated pick-up point for morning and afternoon runs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Willing to work term-time split shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with SEND during journeys to schools and colleges.
• Assist with safety and wellbeing of passengers during transit.
