Job summary

V-Recruit are excited to partner with a respected Multi-Academy Trust to recruit a School Catering Assistant for a Wakefield secondary school. This part-time role covers 18 hours per week, term time only, with an initial 4 weeks and potential extension.

You will assist in preparation, cooking and serving, uphold high hygiene standards, and may act as a cashier under supervision. A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent is required; Enhanced DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience at that level.
• Experience in catering/kitchen roles and delivering good customer service.
• Ability to communicate with school-age students appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and serving of food for staff and students.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in line with regulations.
• Operate cash register as required under supervision.
• Ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment and report incidents promptly.
