Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting a General Assistant to join an independent school catering team in Wakefield. This term-time only role offers 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 12pm to 3pm, supporting food prep, service, and front-of-house operations.

You will help deliver fresh, high-quality meals for pupils and staff, maintain cleanliness, handle cash in line with procedures, and assist with training and seasonal events.

Responsibilities

• Supporting with food preparation and service
• Serving customers and providing friendly, professional customer service
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the kitchen and front of house
• Cleaning and maintaining crockery, cutlery, equipment and work areas
• Following food hygiene, health and safety, stock rotation and food storage procedures
• Taking food and equipment temperatures and completing records where required
• Assisting with cash handling in line with company procedures
• Reporting customer feedback, complaints and any incidents to the Manager
• Supporting the wider team with other reasonable duties, including holiday and sickness cover
• Completing all required training and following company policies and procedures
