Job summary

V-Recruit are excited to partner with a respected Multi-Academy Trust to recruit a School Catering Assistant for a Wakefield secondary school. This part-time role covers 18 hours per week, term time only, with an initial 4 weeks and potential extension.

You will assist in preparation, cooking and serving, uphold high hygiene standards, and may act as a cashier under supervision. A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent is required; Enhanced DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience at that level.
• Experience in catering/kitchen roles and delivering good customer service.
• Ability to communicate with school-age students appropriately.

School Catering Assistant (Part Time)

V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UKs most forward thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit 1 x Catering Assistant for one of their secondary schools in Wakefield, West Yorkshire to start work as soon as possible

Your main duties would include:

• Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to staff and students
• Producing meals of consistently high standards on a daily basis
• Following food hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen in accordance with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations at all times
• Washing dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, tables, and all other catering equipment in the catering environment
• To clean on a daily basis all catering areas to an agreed standard, keeping them free from hazards
• To act as a cashier as required, under supervision
• To always ensure the safe operation of all kitchen equipment
• Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported, including notifiable diseases, in a timely manner

Job Specifics

Hourly rate £12.71 per hour

18 hours per week:

Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8.30am-2.30pm

Term time only

Initially 4 weeks work, with good potential to be extended

Candidate requirements

The chosen candidate must have their Level 2 or equivalent in Food Hygiene, or demonstrable experience of working at that level, a willingness to undergo or enhance additional training as required by your role.

The successful applicant will have extensive previous experience working within a catering/kitchen environment, understand excellent customer service and will be able to communicate with school-age students appropriately
