Job summary

Essex County Council's Greensted I&J Schools in Basildon is seeking a School Crossing Patrol Officer for term-time hours. The role involves assisting pupils at crossings in the morning and afternoon to keep everyone safe on the roads.

You will be punctual, reliable and approachable, engaging with the public and reporting issues to the supervisor. Uniform, equipment and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Punctual and reliable individual who is approachable and engages with the public.
• Able to communicate clearly with pupils, parents and staff.
• Willing to work closely with schools and follow supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support schools at the crossing twice daily during term time to ensure pedestrian safety.
• Maintain visibility and give clear signals to drivers during crossing.
• Report problems to the supervisor and keep uniform and equipment in good condition.
