Essex County Council seeks a punctual School Crossing Patrol Officer to assist pupils at St John’s Green Primary School, Colchester. The role involves supervising morning and afternoon crossings during term time, with uniforms, equipment and training provided.

You will work approximately 7.5 hours per week across 39 academic weeks, 08:00–09:00 and 14:45–15:45, supporting safe pedestrian movement and reporting issues as required.

• Have regard for the needs of people with disabilities and mobility-impaired pedestrians.

• Assess risks at the crossing site and report problems to supervisor.
• Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents at the crossing site.
• Ensure uniforms and equipment are kept in good condition and replacements are requested when needed.
• Give clear signals to drivers to stop and ensure road is clear before pedestrians cross.
