Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility. The role goes beyond the kitchen, requiring a visionary leader to deliver top-quality food and service and elevate the dining experience in the region.

You will drive gross profit, lead a kitchen team, develop menus, and ensure compliance with health and safety and audits. This is a term-time, part-time role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of gross profit management and ability to drive sales targets.
• Proven craft skills using fresh ingredients to deliver quality food.
• Experience in line management, coaching, and inspiring a high-performing team.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: managing and improving controllable costs (stock, food, labour).
• Team leadership: coach, train and inspire kitchen staff to excel daily.
• Culinary innovation: oversee menu development and monthly promotions.
• Quality assurance: ensure standards and legislation through audits and proactive management.
