Job summary

Aspens Services is a market-leading contract caterer specialising in school food. We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our busy team and support our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll work Monday to Friday during school term time with a zero-hour contract and a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. There are no late nights, weekends or Christmas work, and training opportunities plus DBS disclosure support are

Qualifications

• Strong customer-facing postal or service experience.
• Ability to work as part of a busy team.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is advantageous but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (training provided).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and Health & Safety compliance.
