Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our school catering team in Oldham. You will assist with basic food preparation and provide friendly service to students and staff during the lunch service.

You’ll work 20 hours per week, term-time only, with a focus on a safe, clean kitchen and compliance with health and safety standards. Training is provided for the Food Hygiene Level 2 if needed.

Qualifications

• Team player who thrives in a busy service environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service roles.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is helpful, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer interaction: work on the tills during service with training provided.
• Front-line service: deliver friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential support: assist the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining standards: ensure a safe, clean kitchen and Health & Safety compliance.
