Job summary

Caterlink, the education sector catering specialist, is hiring a Relief Chef/Catering Manager to cover in the Birmingham area. This mobile role requires you to have your own transport and works term-time only with no weekends.

The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting food to the standards required by Caterlink and clients, and ensuring all locations comply with Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation while maintaining excellent service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef Manager in contract catering, education preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Passion for fresh, quality ingredients and innovative menus.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and financial management skills.
• Knowledge of current food trends, sustainability, and allergen control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure locations meet Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental laws.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for high food quality and service.
• Support daily running of locations, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets.
