Job summary

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Newham who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner for an ASAP start. You will support children in a caring, patient and nurturing environment, working with experienced early years staff to promote development through play-based learning.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 Early Years/Nursery qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children within the nursery classroom throughout the school day.
• Assist with learning activities and play-based provision.
• Support children's communication, language and social development.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
• Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider early years team.
• Observe and contribute to children's development and progress.
• Support children with personal care where required.
• Develop positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
