Job summary

Peak School in Chinley, Derbyshire is seeking a Midday Learning Support assistant to help lunch-time supervision and pupil welfare. The role is 15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time only) within Esteem MAT, and includes safeguarding responsibilities.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a wide range of needs, supervise in dining rooms, classrooms and on playgrounds, and work under the guidance of teaching staff. DBS checks will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Awareness of safeguarding and keeping children safe in school.
• Good work ethic, time management and reliability.
• Familiarity with 15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year term-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.
• Supervise pupils in the dining room, classrooms and on playgrounds.
• Work under the direction of the Class Teacher or Head Teacher.
