Job summary

Empowering Learning is recruiting a Midday Supervisor to join Derby schools. You will supervise pupils during lunch, help with meals, and support safe, positive play on the playground or grounds.

Ideal candidates will have school-based experience, be calm and reliable, and commit to term-time hours with weekly pay. DBS check and right-to-work in the UK are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (in a school, nursery, club or similar setting)
• A calm, friendly and confident manner, with the ability to manage groups of pupils
• Reliable and punctual
• A basic understanding of safeguarding in a school setting
• A current first aid certificate is desirable
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils in the dining hall and on the playground or school grounds during the lunch break
• Encouraging positive behaviour and following the school's behaviour policy
• Helping younger pupils with their lunch, including opening packaging and clearing away
• Keeping an eye out for allergies and dietary needs, following the school's procedures
• Reporting accidents, incidents and any concerns to the senior member of staff on duty
• Following the school's safeguarding, health and safety and first aid procedures
