Job summary

Esteem Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a motivated Midday Learning Support to work at Peak School, Chinley, Derbyshire. The role supports pupils with diverse needs, ensuring safety and well-being during lunch, classroom and playtime activities.

The successful candidate will assist with supervision, follow school safeguarding policies and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment for learners aged 4–18, in a term-time, part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people in a school setting.
• Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection policies.
• Reliable and well-organised with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in dining rooms, classrooms and playgrounds.
• Assist with duty of care and safeguarding under guidance of the Class Teacher or Head Teacher.
• Support learning activities and ensure a safe, supportive environment.

Job Title: Midday Learning Support

Location: Peak School, Buxton Road, Chinley, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK23 6ES

Grade/Scale: Support Pay Scale - Grade 5 (Points 4-5), Actual Salary £9,069 to £9,213 per annum

Contract:15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only)

We are a nursery to 19 special school academy located in a rural environment in the village of Chinley in the north west corner of Derbyshire. We cater for children and young adults with a wide range of special educational needs, including those with significant learning and communication difficulties.

We are eager to appoint a motivated individual who can support pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, be responsible for the safety and welfare of pupils, supervising them in the dining room, classrooms and on playgrounds.

Working with specific pupils under the direction of the Class Teacher or Head Teacher, as applicable, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people, have an awareness of the importance and responsibility of keeping children safe in school and have a good work ethic, time management and reliability.
