Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Learning and Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team. You will help young people with SEMH, Autism, and ADHD thrive in a supportive, structured environment, and you will work hands-on to make a lasting impact.

Hours are 8:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with term-time only working. You will support students in small classes using trauma-informed practice, track progress on EHCP/IEP plans, and foster a safe, positive environment

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/5 or Level 2 equivalent
• Proven experience supporting SEND or SEMH needs
• 3 to 6 months of experience in an educational setting working with challenging behaviours
• A proactive, dedicated attitude and a genuine commitment to student welfare
• Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
• Willingness to complete a full enhanced DBS check

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in small, focused class settings with both learning and pastoral care
• Using Trauma-Informed Practice and tailored activities to help students build independence
• Working alongside teachers on EHCP and IEP plans while tracking student progress
• Fostering a safe, positive environment using restorative behaviour frameworks
