Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is a leading facilities management company employing 50,000+ colleagues and delivering services across facilities management, hard services, cleaning, security and catering. We are looking for a part-time kitchen assistant to support two fixed days per week during term time.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, handle deliveries, serve customers, and top up vending daily under supervision of our Chefs. Right to work in the UK and DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential
• Possess a basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desired but not essential
• Must have basic knife skills, food preparation skills, and time management skills.
• Can work under pressure and excellent organisational skills are also important
• Can stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment. This includes cleaning utensils, tableware, and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries and ensure that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs
• Top up the vending services daily
