Job summary

St Luke and St Philip’s Church of England Primary Academy in Blackburn is seeking an Intervention Teaching Assistant with welfare responsibilities to support literacy and numeracy interventions and to assist with welfare duties. The role requires strong communication with children, teachers and families, and a flexible approach to meet individual needs.

The post is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, term-time only (44.67 weeks per year), with 18.75 hours dedicated to teaching support and 5 hours

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• High level of communication with children and adults.
• Ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
• Can-do attitude.
• Commitment to happiness, well-being and progress of all at the school.

Responsibilities

• Model excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understand how children learn and adapt approaches.
• Lead interventions for small groups in literacy and numeracy.
