Job summary

St Luke and St Philips Church of England Primary School is seeking an Intervention Teaching Assistant with Welfare responsibilities for a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The role is part-time (18.75 hours TA, 5 hours welfare) within term-time (44.67 weeks per year) and involves supporting literacy and numeracy, SEND, and close collaboration with staff and families.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, flexibility, and a commitment to raising standards

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Ability to model excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to children’s needs.
• Experience leading interventions for small groups in literacy and numeracy.

The right candidate will have:

• The essential qualifications and experience as detailed in the person specification, including GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above

• A proven ability to work on their own initiative.

• A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.

• The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.

• A can-do attitude.

• A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
