Job summary

Connaught Resourcing are seeking an experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a wonderful nursery in Reading on a term-time basis. The role runs Monday to Friday, 9:15am to 6:15pm, with school holidays off, offering a strong work-life balance.

You will provide high-quality EYFS care, plan indoor and outdoor activities, support safeguarding, observe progress and work as part of a supportive team to deliver excellent early years practice.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
• Experience in EYFS and early years settings.
• Able to work term-time and support outdoor/indoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and education in line with EYFS.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a wonderful nursery based in Reading on a term-time only basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a bright, open-plan nursery environment with a strong focus on outdoor play, exploration and hands-on learning.

The role is Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 6.15pm, during term time only, offering a great work-life balance with school holidays off. This makes it an ideal position for someone looking for a rewarding early years role that fits around family life, study or other commitments.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality care and education for children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Planning and supporting engaging indoor and outdoor activities that encourage curiosity, independence and development.
• Understanding and following safeguarding procedures to promote the welfare and safety of all children.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress, using this information to support next steps in learning.
• Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development within a nurturing environment.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and stimulating nursery space, including open-ended play areas and outdoor learning spaces.
• Working as part of a supportive team to deliver excellent standards of early years practice.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification, have a good understanding of safeguarding and child development, and be confident working within the EYFS framework. A warm, enthusiastic and proactive approach is essential.
