Job summary

Flexzo Teach is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. The role involves supervising classes in the absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned activities and keeping students engaged with their learning.

The successful candidate will have strong classroom management, good communication skills and the ability to work across different subjects. Experience in a secondary school and safeguarding awareness are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant or similar educational role.
• HLTA status or relevant teaching qualifications.
• Experience working in a secondary school environment.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-planned activities and ensure students complete assigned work.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.
• Support students across different subjects and key stages.
• Provide guidance and assistance to pupils during lessons.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Communicate with teaching staff regarding student progress and completed work.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding and pastoral concerns.
• Support administrative duties and lunchtime supervision.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Confidence supervising groups of secondary school students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Adaptability across different curriculum subjects.
