Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Cover Manager, HLTA or school administrator.
• Experience working in a secondary school.
• Strong behaviour management and ability to lead a classroom independently.
• Experience using school management, timetabling or staff absence systems.
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills.
• Confidence managing competing priorities and collaborating with colleagues.
• Reliable availability for a 6:30am start and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and allocate daily cover for absent teaching and support staff.
• Deploy staff to maintain lesson continuity and minimise disruption.
• Supervise pre-prepared lessons across subjects.
• Keep students on task and support understanding of work.
• Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Keep accurate cover records and communicate changes promptly.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Headteacher and colleagues to support daily operations.
