Job summary

Ash Field Academy in Leicester is recruiting a Cover Supervisor on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. The role is 40 hours per week, term-time only plus INSET days, with start as soon as possible.

You will supervise lessons when a teacher is absent, support the activity bank, help organise cover for colleagues, and perform admin duties. NVQ 3 STL and Level 2 Maths/English are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in STL or equivalent; Level 2 maths and English.
• Experience with safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Experience working with students in a formal setting.
• Ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a class in the absence of a teacher and ensure pupils are engaged in learning activities.
• Explain and clarify tasks, answer pupil questions, and ensure understanding of work.
• Assist with the organisation of cover for absent colleagues (teachers or support staff) for planned and unplanned absences.
• Undertake administrative duties relevant to the role.
