Job summary

Caterlink is recruiting a Chef Manager at Harrow College to ensure nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for students and staff. The role is term-time only, with no weekends, offering flexibility and a steady schedule.

You will lead day-to-day kitchen operations, manage inventories and budgets, train staff, and act as the main point of contact for the client on site while ensuring compliance with health and safety and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
• Level 3 Health & Safety qualification.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and due diligence.
• Understanding of allergen management and the 14 allergens.
• Knowledge of current health, safety and hygiene legislation.
• Understanding of nutrition and the ability to provide balanced, high-quality menus.
• Strong culinary skills and experience in a professional catering environment.
• Management & leadership: proven experience leading catering/kitchen teams.
• Ability to organise staff rotas, delegate responsibilities and manage performance.
• Confident communicator with staff, clients, students/customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation.
• Enhance Caterlink's reputation through excellent food and service.
• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, inventories, budgets and action plans.
• Be the main client contact in the school, implementing improvements.
• Monitor KPIs and financial targets with line manager.
• Train and develop teams, ensuring training is completed and performance is managed.
