Job summary

St George's CE Primary School in Stockport is seeking a dedicated Before & Afterschool Club Playworker. The role supports children after school, supervises activities, and helps create a safe, welcoming environment after the school day. You will plan engaging activities, adhere to school policies, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.

The post is permanent, term-time only (Mon-Fri, 2.50pm–6.00pm), with a 15.83 hour weekly pattern. Appointment is subject to safeguarding checks and references.

Responsibilities

• To provide a safe and welcoming environment for children, parents and carers.
• Supervising the children.
• Engaging with the children in aspects of play and conversation.
• Setting up activities for children to optionally take part in.
• To provide the highest standards of childcare and excellent levels of customer service at all times.
• To understand fully and adhere to St George’s policies and procedures at all times.
• To plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and evaluate as required.
• To have an understanding that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and that you have a duty to act accordingly & report any concerns.
