Job summary

Nexo People is seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer in Stoke-on-Trent for a permanent, full-time role with a national supported housing charity. You will help people with complex needs settle into their new home and develop independent tenancy skills, including budgeting, safety, and home maintenance.

The role is 37.5 hours weekly, 7.5-hour shifts between 8am–10pm, with some weekend work. Permanent position starting on a temporary basis; right to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

  • Awareness of issues affecting vulnerable people and those with multiple disadvantages.
  • Experience overcoming barriers to housing for those may be excluded from housing registers.
  • Organised, able to multitask, and a completer-finisher who follows policy and process.
  • Skills to support daily living activities needed for independence.
  • Experience managing rent accounts and following arrears processes.
  • Experience health and safety and maintaining premises standards.
  • Experience safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

  • Assess referrals against scheme criteria.
  • Complete safety tasks and home inspections to maintain good standards.
  • Support budgeting and financial inclusion to develop independent living skills.
  • Manage rent accounts and arrears processes.
  • Record and report tenancy notes via CRM on computer or mobile.
  • Identify, monitor and report safeguarding concerns per policy.
  • Work within the charity's aims, values and ethos.

Job description

We're recruiting a Tenancy Sustainment Officer for a permanent, full-time role in Stoke-on-Trent, working with a national, award-winning supported housing charity. You'll provide housing management support to people with multiple and complex needs as part of a service for those who have lost their home or been rough sleeping.

You'll assess people for the scheme, help them settle into their new home, and support them to build the skills they need to manage a tenancy - from budgeting and financial inclusion through to keeping their home safe and well maintained.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, worked as 7.5-hour days between 8am and 10pm, and includes some weekend working.

Please note this is a permanent position, starting on a temporary basis, and we are unable to offer visa sponsorship - applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing referrals to the scheme against its criteria
  • Completing safety tasks and home inspections to keep homes to a good standard
  • Supporting service users with budgeting and financial inclusion to develop independent living skills
  • Managing rent accounts and following arrears processes
  • Recording and reporting tenancy notes via an online CRM system, both online and on a mobile device
  • Identifying, monitoring and reporting safeguarding concerns in line with policy
  • Working within the organisation's charitable aims, values and ethos
What we’re looking for

  • Enhanced (Adult Barred List) DBS check required. Lived experience welcomed but not essential
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
