Job summary

Renaissance Housing Association Ltd is seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to manage a caseload of tenants in exempt accommodation, combining tenancy management with housing-related support. You will ensure support is evidence-based to meet Housing Benefit requirements and local standards, supporting tenants toward independent living in Burnley and surrounding areas.

The role includes planning, safeguarding, and collaboration with local agencies, with a 37.5-hour week and a salary from £28,500

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting vulnerable adults in housing or social care.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver needs and risk assessments for tenants.
• Develop person-centred support plans with tenants and set clear goals for independence.
• Conduct regular 1-1 key work sessions covering budgeting, benefits, health, wellbeing, education, training and employment.
• Record all support accurately on the case management system, evidencing care and support.
• Help tenants access mental health, substance misuse, learning disability and domestic abuse services.
• Carry out sign-ups and inductions, explain licence or tenancy agreements and tenant responsibilities.
• Monitor rent and Housing Benefit claims; respond to reviews and audits.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and participate in safeguarding meetings and action plans.
