Job summary

BYLOR is seeking a skilled Temporary Works Designer to join the HPC project team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. You will design and develop temporary works in line with BS5975, collaborating with a large multidisciplinary team of 80 professionals to deliver safe and efficient solutions.

With a minimum of 5 years in Temporary Works Design within the UK, you will contribute to a major civil engineering programme and engage with colleagues from Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke who

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Temporary Works Design within the UK.
• Proficient in BS5975 and BS/EC standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively within a large, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop temporary works designs in compliance with BS5975.
• Collaborate with Delivery Teams and Methods/Temporary Works Design team to develop safe, efficient solutions.
• Provide innovative and practical design solutions to support construction activities.
• Ensure all designs meet safety and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed design documentation and reports (Digital Engineering Team will create drawings and models).
