Job summary

Mabey Hire in Ashton-in-Makerfield is seeking a Design Engineer to develop temporary works designs for groundworks and related schemes. You will ensure drawings meet BS5975:2019 standards and support on-site activities with clients.

The role requires a HND or degree in civil/structural engineering and a minimum of 3 years in temporary works design, with AutoCAD 2D or REVIT experience. The team collaborates with sales and operations to deliver engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• A HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years experience designing temporary works.
• The ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Experience of designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience utilising AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
