Job summary

Confidential in South Leeds is seeking a Credit Controller to join the finance team on a temp‑to‑perm basis. The role is office-based, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with a starting rate of £14 per hour (equivalent to about £27,300 per year). Immediate or short-notice start required.

You will chase invoices, manage accounts, resolve payment queries and support reconciliations. Prior credit control experience isn’t essential; candidates from Sales Ledger or Accounts Receivable are

Qualifications

• Finance experience in a roles such as credit control, sales ledger or accounts receivable is welcome.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling invoices and data.
• Able to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

• Chase outstanding invoices by phone and email.
• Manage customer accounts and review aged debt.

We're working with a growing business in South Leeds that's looking to welcome a new member to its finance team. You don't need to have worked as a Credit Controller before! We'd love to hear from candidates with experience in Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or someone from a collections background looking to move into a finance team.

Please note: You'll need to be available immediately or on a short notice period and happy to work fully office-based five days a week.

The role

• Chasing outstanding invoices by telephone and email
• Managing customer accounts and reviewing aged debt
• Resolving invoice and payment queries
• Allocating payments and supporting cash allocation
• Building positive relationships with customers and internal teams
• Producing invoices and customer statements
• Supporting reconciliations and wider finance activities
