Job summary

Catshill Federation is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA2) to support pupils across the school, working under class teachers to enhance learning, wellbeing and development.

You will assist with 1:1 and small group support, foster inclusivity and promote independence, confidence and positive relationships while helping with assessment, resources and safeguarding. This is a temporary role until July 2027, 8:45am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to undertake training, including first aid.
• Ability to build warm, positive relationships with children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Create a positive, enabling learning environment.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships.
• Support learning activities as directed by the class teachers.
• Assist with assessment, marking and record-keeping in line with school policy.
• Prepare resources and supporting high-quality classroom provision.
• Attend to pupils’ personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
• Support learning activities as directed by the class teacher.
• The role includes supporting pupils outside lesson times and attending relevant meetings.
