Job summary

Catshill Federation is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant (TA2) to join our nurturing school community in Bromsgrove. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping to create a positive learning environment and promoting independence, confidence and inclusion.

You will assist with assessment and record-keeping, prepare resources, and support activities as directed by class teachers. This role suits someone who enjoys working with young children and values teamwork and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Attend to pupils' personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
• Support learning activities as directed by the class teacher.
• Willingness to undertake training, including first aid and safeguarding.

Job description

You will work under the direction of class teachers to support pupils' learning, wellbeing and development.

This includes:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Helping to create a positive, enabling learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
• Promoting inclusion and ensuring all pupils have equal access to learning
• Supervising pupils to ensure their safety and emotional wellbeing
• Using your skills to support pupils' physical, social and intellectual development
• Assisting with assessment, marking and record-keeping in line with school policy
• Preparing resources and supporting high-quality classroom provision

As stated in the job description, you will "attend to pupils' personal needs... including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters" and "support learning activities as directed by the class teacher".
