Job summary

Longwill Primary School for Deaf Children in Birmingham invites applications for a Temporary Teacher of the Deaf (MPS/UPS + SEN 1/2) to start in Spring/Summer terms 2027. You will teach Deaf pupils in a sign bilingual setting, with commitment to CPD and developing signing skills to Level 3+.

The post requires QToD or training to become a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, and strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Teacher.
• Commitment to Train to be a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) with full funding.
• Excellent communication with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching to Deaf pupils in a sign bilingual setting.
• Lead a classroom team and contribute to school development.
• Engage in CPD and develop signing skills to Level 3 or beyond.
