Job summary

Royal Mencap Society is seeking a full-time Service Manager for our Supported Living Services in Omagh. This temporary role (9 months) starts mid-late October 2026 to cover maternity leave, 37.5 hours per week, with salary set at £38,004.00.

You will report to the Area Operations Manager and oversee service operations, with some front-line duties and leadership of the team, ensuring high-quality care and positive outcomes for people we support.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care sector with people with autism and/or behaviours that challenge.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Competent in using IT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operation of the service under the Area Operations Manager.Occasional frontline support and covering shifts in emergencies.

Job description

We are looking for a full-time temporary Service Manager (37.5 hours per week) to join our Supported Living Services in Omagh, this is a temporary role to cover Maternity Leave starting in Mid-Late October 2026 for 9 months with possible extension.

Effective from the 1st of October 2026 the salary for this role will be £38,004.00

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of your service by undertaking agreed management tasks. In addition to this you may need to cover the odd shift in case of emergency. This will require you to do some front-line support work with the individuals we support. Furthermore, you will need to act as a role model, representing the service positively and demonstrating good practice to other members of the team.

To be considered for this role, experience within the care sector with people with autism and/or who have behaviours that challenge is required. You should have experience leading and developing teams and be competent in using IT.

You will be self-motivated and have a passion for positive change and the confidence to make difficult decisions under pressure. Having strong interpersonal skills will be essential for this role with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and the people we support.
