Royal Mencap Society in Derry/Londonderry is seeking Relief Support Workers who are compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping others. You will support people with learning disabilities in daily routines and encourage independence.
The role involves assisting with personal care and medication, helping with finances and everyday tasks, and promoting social inclusion using Positive Behaviour Support strategies. Evening, weekend and overnight shifts available.
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for helping others? Mencap is looking for enthusiastic ReliefSupport Workers to join our amazing team in Derry/Londonderry, where your role will have a lasting impact on the lives of people with learning disabilities.
Support people with learning disabilities in their daily lives and routines
Assist with personal care and medication, including bathing and dressing
Help with finances and everyday tasks like shopping and bill payments
Encourage independence and social inclusion by supporting community activities and groups
Use Positive Behaviour Support strategies to enhance quality of life
Build trusting, meaningful relationships based on empathy and respect
A genuine passion for supporting others
Flexibility to work a range of shifts including evenings, weekends, and overnight
A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude
Willingness to register with NISCC and undergo an enhanced Access NI check
Mencap holds a Home Office sponsorship licence; however, due to current restrictions on our allocation of Certificates of Sponsorship, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must therefore have the right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
