Job summary

Royal Mencap Society is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead the Health and Safety function across a national organisation. Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding and Compliance, you will provide expert advice, oversee systems and processes, and support operational teams to manage risk effectively.

Join us to promote a positive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop a high-performing team of Health and Safety Advisors across Mencap.

Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a real difference?

At Mencap, our ambition is for every person we support to receive the highest quality, person-centred support. We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our Governance and Quality Directorate and lead our Health and Safety function across a national organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding and Compliance, you will provide expert advice, oversee Health and Safety systems and processes, support operational teams to manage risk effectively, and lead a team of Health and Safety Advisors. You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for someone with strong Health and Safety knowledge, experience of managing risk and assurance processes in a complex organisation, excellent communication and influencing skills, and a passion for improving the lives of people with a learning disability.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence practice, support colleagues across Mencap and help ensure the people we support, our colleagues and visitors remain safe every day.
