Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Catering Assistant to join a Secondary School on an initial 1+ month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 16 hours per week, 3 days.

Key responsibilities include preparing ingredients, assisting chefs with cooking and plating, and maintaining hygiene standards in a team environment under supervision. Essential requirements: experience in a school setting and experience as a catering assistant.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing ingredients and basic food preparation in a school setting.
• Experience as a catering assistant within a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (washing, chopping, measuring) and assist with basic food preparation.
• Support chefs with cooking, plating and portioning dishes.
• Work as part of a team under the direction of the chef or catering supervisor.
• Wash up and clean kitchens/work areas.
• Follow strict food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures.
